Who we are
Waharaka Dhamma (waharakadhamma.com) is a non-commercial archive of Dhamma talks by Ven. Waharaka Abhayarathanalankara Thero, with searchable transcripts that listeners help correct.
When you listen, search or correct
Correction suggestions. When you send a correction we store the text you suggested, the original line, which talk and line it belongs to, and when it was sent. We do not ask for your name or email, and we do not store your IP address with the suggestion. Accepted corrections become part of the public transcript.
Listening position. To let you continue a talk, your browser keeps the talk and the time you stopped at in its local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Services that handle your requests
Like any website, ours cannot be reached without some technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, passing through the services that run it:
- Cloudflare delivers the site and the audio files, protects them from attacks, and runs the short check that you are a person (Turnstile) before a correction is sent. Cloudflare privacy policy
- Render hosts the site and its database, and keeps request logs for a limited time. Render privacy policy
Some talks link to YouTube. Once you follow such a link, YouTube and Google's privacy policy apply.
Editors and Google sign-in
Only editors sign in. They sign in through Cloudflare Access, either with a one-time code sent by email or with their Google account.
When an editor signs in with Google, we use only their email address, to check that it is on our list of editors. We do not use Google user data for anything else, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone.
For each editor we keep their email address and a record of the editorial work they do, such as reviewing and applying corrections. These records are part of the history of the transcripts, so we keep them after someone stops being an editor. A former editor can ask us to remove their email address.
Your choices
You can delete the listening position at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. Because correction suggestions are not linked to you, we cannot find the ones you sent unless you tell us the talk and the line.
For any question about your data, write to sathipattanaghara@gmail.com.
Changes
If what we collect changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
